"Built in 1925, the English Revival-style residence was once visited by President Obama, who in 2010 attended a fundraiser hosted by Wells. The handsome brick house sits back from the street and features box hedges, gardens and mature trees along the front. Beyond the two-story entry, the 9,676-square-foot floor plan includes a formal living room, a wood-paneled library and a center-island kitchen."
"Including the pool pavilion and guest apartment above the garage, there are nine bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. A covered patio overlooks the swimming pool and gazebo in the backyard. Formal gardens, specimen trees, a greenhouse and a lighted tennis court complete the setting."
"The sale is the most paid for a single-family home in the Hancock Park area since 2015, when actors Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith sold their marital home for $15.947 million, records show."
John Wells, an Emmy-winning executive producer known for creating television series including "ER," "The West Wing," and "Shameless," sold his historic Hancock Park residence for $12,412,440.
