Rhett Miller announces new album & tour, shares "Come As You Are" ft Turnpike Troubadours' Evan Felker
Briefly

Rhett Miller announces his 10th album, 'A Lifetime of Riding By Night,' set to release on October 10 via ATO. Produced by Murry Hammond, it includes collaborations with notable artists such as Evan Felker and Caitlin Rose. Miller reflects on trusting Hammond completely during production, recording 20 songs without knowing final selections. The lead single, 'Come As You Are,' co-written with Felker, touches on the emotional struggles of touring and leaving loved ones. Miller expresses personal connection to the song while appreciating Felker's contributions. He will also embark on a fall tour starting October 28.
Murry was a mentor to me when we made that first record all those decades ago, and this album felt like the right time to work with him in that capacity again.
That song came together at a time when Evan and I were both wrestling with the difficulty of leaving our loved ones behind to go on tour.
Despite it being a co-write, 'Come As You Are' feels like a really personal moment. That said, I get a tickle out of hearing Evan's harmony on there.
