Los Angeles has granted permits for three homes in Pacific Palisades to begin rebuilding after the destructive January wildfires. As of last week, 72 property owners applied for permits with the city and 98 with L.A. County. Mayor Karen Bass announced streamlined permitting processes for affected homeowners, aiming to expedite recovery. The first permit was issued on March 5, shortly after the fire impacted over 6,000 homes. Authorities are facilitating quick approvals with one-stop centers for victims and waiving certain reviews for similar size rebuilds. Repairs have already commenced on one residence.
"The process worked excellently," said Lobana, who has been working on homes in Los Angeles for 40 years. "The city was very courteous."
