"Every time I got an acting job, I would put something into the guesthouse - the stairs, the retaining wall, the bleacher area, the tree line and the fire pit. The 498-square-foot guesthouse was designed to let breezes flow through. Plus, it features high ceilings so it never feels crowded and has a lot of space where you can hang."
"This is a place where I can have peace and solitude. You can sit inside and it's soundproof, or you can go outside and meditate because there's plenty of space to get your mind together."
"Activity-wise, Miller said the main combo is wine drinking and video games: MLB: The Show, NBA Live and FIFA are his favorites. I'm a sports dude through and through."
Actor Omar Miller spent 15 years gradually building a guesthouse at the top of his steep, half-acre Glendale property, completing his vision of an "adult funhouse." Accessible by 100 stair steps, the 498-square-foot structure combines indoor-outdoor living with Palm Springs-inspired design, high ceilings, and soundproofing. The space overlooks the San Gabriel Valley and downtown Los Angeles. Miller funded construction incrementally through acting jobs, adding features like stairs, retaining walls, and a fire pit over time. The guesthouse accommodates his favorite activities: wine drinking and video games, particularly sports titles. The exterior includes artificial lawn, exercise equipment, lawn chairs, and a firepit where Miller enjoys Friday night fireworks views from Dodger Stadium.
