Her 4.5-acre Pasadena estate on South Oakland Avenue featured expansive grounds with a large lawn suitable for full-field soccer, numerous statues, and a pond referred to as "the lake" by neighbors. After declaring bankruptcy in February 1986 with over $22 million in arrears, De Villagran lost most of her approximately 20 Beverly Hills homes. The Pasadena mansion, one of her last remaining properties, sold within two weeks to an unidentified Los Angeles doctor for approximately $3.5 million, close to the original asking price.
