Lakers bow out in a whimper against Wolves
Briefly

The Los Angeles Lakers faced a disappointing end to their season, losing in the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves. After initially splitting the first two games, the Lakers could not secure a win in their subsequent matchups, culminating in a 103-96 loss at home in Game 5. The game underscored the Lakers' struggles, particularly their ineffective scoring and depth, with stars Gobert and Randle dominating. Despite a valiant effort in the game's final moments, the Lakers' inability to maintain their performance ultimately led to their elimination.
I think there's always a mix of disappointment and gratitude, but certainly disappointed and not something that I've ever envisioned... But give Minnesota a lot of credit, they're a really good basketball team.
Gobert transformed into prime Wilt Chamberlain, scoring 27 points and grabbing 24 rebounds, both career postseason highs for the Frenchman.
Despite Minnesota being in the driver's seat, the Lakers had a hand on the wheel midway through the final frame... they struggled to score in the fourth quarter and Wednesday was no exception.
With Jaxson Hayes benched, they went with a small-ball lineup and that unit was manhandled by the Wolves' bigs, Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert.
