Tyler Toffoli, a forward for the San Jose Sharks, recently visited teammate Macklin Celebrini in Vancouver, where he witnessed the young player's intense offseason training. Celebrini, who celebrates his 19th birthday, trains rigorously with his family, achieving impressive feats like completing the challenging Grouse Grind hike in just 39 minutes. Toffoli struggled to keep up, taking an hour to finish the same trail. The visit not only showcased the Celebrini family's dedication but also made Toffoli reflect on the importance of serious summer training, especially as he enters his 14th NHL season.
"I thought I had been skating hard (with Ricci) and I went up there, and the first day I said, Oh, I might not make it.'"
"It was definitely cool to see how committed (Macklin) is and how hard he's working. I'm excited to see what he does next year."
