Ontario Christian won the California state Open Division girls' basketball championship, defeating Archbishop Mitty 56-49 at Golden 1 Center. Junior guard Kaleena Smith delivered an outstanding performance with 24 points, five assists, and critical baskets throughout the game. Skylah Archer contributed a career-high 14 points, and Tatianna Griffin added 12 points. The Knights pulled away in the fourth quarter after a competitive three-quarter battle. Archbishop Mitty, led by Iowa-bound McKenna Waliczko with 19 points and 10 rebounds, finished as runner-up for the fifth consecutive season. Ontario Christian finished 34-2 after being upset by Sierra Canyon in the Southern Section final but regrouping for the state championship.
