Mark Walter completed a record-setting $10 billion purchase of the Los Angeles Lakers and has begun restructuring the franchise's front office, including firing Joey and Jesse Buss and dismissing much of the scouting department. Walter is integrating the Lakers into TWG Sports, the entity overseeing his sports holdings, which positions Dodgers executives Farhan Zaidi and Andrew Friedman as senior TWG executives. Andrew Friedman will play a consulting role with Lakers president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka after helping the Dodgers win three of the past six World Series. The organization is modernizing and pursuing an 18th NBA championship while aligning Dodgers-Lakers operations.
