Tanner Scott was not with Dodgers for Game 3 of NLDS

"Tanner Scott was not in the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen during their loss to the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 3 of the National League Division Series. The 8-2 drubbing snapped the Dodgers' postseason winning streak at five games. "Tanner was not at the ballpark today. There was something going on personal. It will come out later, but he was completely unavailable," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after Game 3."

"That presumably was a factor in Clayton Kershaw remaining in the game to pitch the eighth inning. He entered out of the bullpen in the seventh and completed a scoreless frame, though was hardly sharp and benefitted from some good fortune. Kershaw gave up a leadoff home run to J.T. Realmuto in the eighth inning, along with a two-run single to Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber hit his second long ball of the night to break the game open."

"Scott has yet to appear in a postseason game with the Dodgers. He finished the regular season with back-to-back scoreless appearances but set a career high with 10 blown saves. Scott's struggles, along with inconsistent performances by the likes of Blake Treinen and others, has prompted the Dodgers to utilize Tyler Glasnow, Emmet Sheehan and Roki Sasaki in bullpen roles thus far."

Clayton Kershaw was used out of the bullpen and remained to pitch the eighth inning, surrendering key hits that opened the game. Scott has not appeared in a postseason game, finished the regular season with two scoreless outings but recorded a career-high 10 blown saves. Bullpen inconsistencies prompted use of Tyler Glasnow, Emmet Sheehan and Roki Sasaki. Roberts did not specify Scott's return for Game 4; his next opportunity would be Game 5 or the NL Championship Series.
