Shohei Ohtani returned after being hit by a pitch on his right pinky and both pitched and batted. He opened with a home run off Rockies starter Tomoyuki Sugano, whom he has faced 7-for-9 with five extra-base hits and three home runs across NPB and MLB. Freddie Freeman added a left-field home run in the first inning, the Dodgers’ seventh homer in nine innings, while Sugano allowed six home runs in 7 2/3 innings. Ohtani struck out three in a scoreless first, carried a no-hit bid through six, but threw only 53% strikes, walking four and hitting a batter; his scoreless streak ended at 19 1/3 innings. The Rockies’ first hit came in the eighth with two outs. Andy Pages hit a home run in the eighth for his 13th and major-league-leading 50th RBI, extending the lead to 4-1, and the Dodgers completed the sweep with a 4-1 final.
