He expressed heartfelt gratitude towards his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, for their new daughter. Before the birth, Ohtani had a strong performance in his prior matches, maintaining a batting average of .288, with six home runs. The Dodgers designated Eddie Rosario to make room for him.
