Matt Sauer Part Of Dodgers' Tokyo Series Travel Roster
Briefly

The Dodgers enter Spring Training with most of their roster established but still have some competition for the final spots. Matt Sauer, a former second-round pick, struggles with the Royals after being drafted in 2017 but is now with the Dodgers. While not impressive in spring training with a high ERA and multiple hits allowed, his ability to pitch multiple innings impressed the coaches. He will accompany the team to Tokyo, though his place on the Opening Day roster remains uncertain due to injury concerns among other relievers.
Sauer’s ability to give the Dodgers length out of the bullpen is currently his greatest strength as three of his four outings during Cactus League play have been more than one inning.
Despite a rough spring, he has enough potential that the Dodgers included him on their travel roster for the Tokyo Series.
