The Dodgers City Connect Showcase recently celebrated its second annual event, featuring a softball game with the 2024 Dodgers Dreamteam Nike RBI Regionals team against John Muir High School. Notable players Kirsten Watson, Blake Snell, and Will Smith participated, bringing a game-day atmosphere with music and coaching. The event also coincided with community support initiatives, providing health services and essentials to those affected by the Eaton Fire, along with $20,000 in donations to local businesses impacted by the disaster.
"It's cool to see how much it means to them," Snell said. "It's a cool event, and anytime you can get on a baseball field or softball field, you're winning. It's fun to watch the girls show their talent off."
"It was a great day," Smith said. "John Muir High School, where Jackie Robinson went, and obviously this area was affected by the wildfires. So to be out here supporting these girls, some good softball players, just having some fun and giving back to the community."
