The Los Angeles Dodgers are facing a setback as Roki Sasaki has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to a right shoulder impingement, the first injury of his MLB career. He joins teammates Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow on the injured list. Sasaki experienced a decline in velocity, and the shoulder issue is believed to be a reason. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated that Sasaki had been feeling discomfort for weeks. The team decided to act cautiously to ensure his recovery, resulting in a temporary halt to his throwing.
Everything that we know is there's an impingement in his shoulder that is similar to what he had last year, we felt to put him on the IL, let this thing calm down.
From what we gather, he's felt some discomfort for the last few weeks. Given where we were at as a pitching staff, he wanted to continue to go, persevere and fight through everything.
