""I'm sure my love for the Dodgers is not going to end this year. After 64 years, I've really fallen in love with baseball and the Dodgers. They have been great with me. They have supported me, they have given me an opportunity. The Dodgers always were behind me. They treated me with respect. One thing I can tell you is I have never had any problem with anybody. I have been very fortunate to have really professional colleagues. They have been great.""
"Like others have posted, we were saddened to learn about the passing of James Mims. If you ever walked by the Dodger Stadium press box, you saw James sitting in his usual spot. He was a constant in our decade-plus of covering the team, always there to greet us. Our thoughts... pic.twitter.com/bXkkSmOWfV - Dodger Blue (@DodgerBlue1958) September 2, 2025 Longtime Dodgers employees honored"
The Los Angeles Dodgers held a pregame ceremony at Dodger Stadium honoring more than 80 employees with 25 or more years of service. Honorees included Hall of Famer Jaime Jarrín (67 seasons), Manny Mota (56), Rancho Cucamonga manager John Shoemaker (48), Charlie Hough (45), Rick Monday (40) and Steve Yeager (39). Jaime Jarrín retired from the Spanish-language broadcaster role after 2022 but remained with the organization as an ambassador and continued to appear, expressing his lasting love for the Dodgers and baseball. The ceremony also recognized ushers James Harvey (55), Howard Levine (53) and usher captain Richard Angona (50). A social-media post mourned press-box fixture James Mims.
