Dodgers Placing Kirby Yates on Injured List, Roki Sasaki Returns as Reliever
""I think he's embraced it," Roberts said."
""I think he's done a very nice job. I think once he's in the 'pen, we'll make decisions on when we use him."
""I think that Roki is ... from my understanding, in a good place to do whatever it is to help the team," Roberts said."
Kirby Yates was placed on the injured list with a hamstring injury and Roki Sasaki was activated to pitch out of the bullpen. Yates posted a 7.71 ERA in eight September appearances, striking out seven, walking four and allowing six earned runs in seven innings. Yates previously spent three weeks on the injured list in August with lower back pain. Sasaki had not pitched since early May due to shoulder complications but is now available for relief work. Sasaki's last two Triple-A rehab outings were in relief, showing improved command and a fastball averaging 98.6 mph. The transition to relief increases bullpen options and could affect postseason roster decisions.
