"Ortiz signed with the Dodgers as an international free agent in 2017, and spent his entire professional career in the Dodgers organization. He spent his time playing rookie ball in the Dominican Summer League and Arizona League in 2017 and 2018 before making a move to Single-A in 2019. After not pitching in 2020, Ortiz made four solid appearances in 2021, posting a 0.77 ERA through 11 innings."
The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired 22-year-old right-handed pitcher Tyler Gough from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for right-handed pitcher Robinson Ortiz. Gough was a ninth-round 2022 draft pick who reached Single-A in 2023, struggled early with a 5.70 ERA through 30 innings, improved in 2024 with a 4.33 ERA, 99 strikeouts and a 1.41 WHIP, and missed all of 2025 due to injury. Ortiz signed with the Dodgers as an international free agent in 2017, progressed through rookie and Single-A levels, posted strong short-season ERAs, advanced to Double-A and Triple-A in 2025, and was added to the Dodgers' 40-man roster in November.
