""He's playing catch," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Snell. "He's throwing. Once he gets off the mound, throws a 'pen, faces some hitters, we will know more. But obviously, he's not there right now. So until he gets off the mound, I just really don't know.""
""It's in the foreseeable future," Roberts said of when Snell will throw off a mound. "Nothing of concern. But I think that when he's ready to kind of make the progression is when he's ready. "So like I said, I think the first day, there's no hard line dates for any of our players. There really isn't. I think that we have a ton of depth, a lot of able players, and we're not going to push any position player, let alone a pitcher, to be ready for whatever date. So, I know Mark (Prior) got it kind of on his calendar. I'm not sure exactly what date that is, though.""
Blake Snell entered Spring Training behind schedule after a heavy 2025 postseason workload. He logged 34 innings across six appearances (five starts) and showed decreased effectiveness as the postseason progressed. He missed time during the regular season with a shoulder issue that may not have fully healed. His arm felt exhausted at the end of the World Series. He will be limited during the start of full-squad workouts at Camelback Ranch and is currently playing catch and throwing. A bullpen session off a mound is expected in the foreseeable future. The organization is taking a cautious approach with no hard return dates and emphasizes team depth.
