"Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Glasnow was scratched due to back tightness, but they hope he'll be back on the mound within a few days, via Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic: Dave Roberts said Tyler Glasnow reported back tightness. That's why he was scratched. Plan is to push him back "a few days" and have him start "early next week." - Fabian Ardaya (@FabianArdaya) September 5, 2025"
"Glasnow has dealt with numerous injuries throughout his career, and he's now dealing with another. Glasnow also dealt with back tightness last season, which cost him nearly three weeks on the injured list before he was able to return. He also missed time with elbow tendinitis that ultimately ended his season. Earlier this year, he spent time on the 60-day IL with right shoulder inflammation."
Tyler Glasnow was scratched from a scheduled start because of back tightness, prompting Shohei Ohtani to be penciled into the starting spot. Glasnow had been moved previously after an illness prompted an earlier scratch for Ohtani. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the plan is to push Glasnow back a few days and have him start early next week. Glasnow has a history of injuries including last season's back tightness, elbow tendinitis that ended his season, and earlier right shoulder inflammation that placed him on the 60-day IL. He recently took a no-hitter into the sixth and has a 3.41 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 81 strikeouts in 68.2 innings this season. Yoshinobu Yamamoto is slated to start Saturday and Clayton Kershaw remains part of the rotation on the road trip.
