Dodgers fight and keep their season alive with dramatic World Series Game 6 win
"I gave our players an option to not workout today, because of the long series and 18 innings [in Game 3] and the travel and all that stuff,"
"And not one guy took the option. So that was pretty exciting for me. It just speaks to where these guys are at. ... We're gonna keep going, and keep fighting."
The Dodgers were shut down at home in Game 5 and departed Los Angeles with their season in jeopardy. At LAX, a fuel pump alert forced the team charter back to the gate, and a mechanic determined the issue was a malfunctioning warning light. The aircraft needed refueling, but the fueling truck broke down before reaching the plane, creating a lengthy tarmac delay that nearly left players overnight in Los Angeles. Players opted to continue to Toronto, all choosing to work out despite the grind. The team recovered and won Game 7, 3-1, to extend the season.
