"I just told him he did a fantastic job and to tip his cap to the fans, because they were cheering for him in that ninth inning,"
"I felt that the guys were feeling it for him, were pulling for him. And I wanted it bad for him."
"Obviously, it's really hard to swallow,"
"But the only thing we can do is we've got to get together, put things together, and overcome it."
Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched 8.2 no-hit innings at Camden Yards before an inside-cutter solo by Jackson Holliday ended the bid. Manager Dave Roberts praised Yamamoto and urged him to tip his cap to fans who were cheering in the ninth. Yamamoto recorded 26 outs and exited with the Dodgers leading 3-1, but the bullpen could not secure the final out and the Orioles rallied for a 4-3 win. Yamamoto threw 112 pitches, with Holliday's homer as his lone blemish. Yamamoto called the result hard to swallow and said the team must regroup and overcome the setback.
