Tony Gonsolin of the Los Angeles Dodgers has been placed on the injured list due to right elbow discomfort, causing concern after his recovery from Tommy John surgery. Manager Dave Roberts emphasized the importance of caution, stating that they would wait for scans before making further decisions. An update suggested that Gonsolin's UCL is intact, which is optimistic. Having already battled a back injury at the start of the season, this latest setback adds to Gonsolin's challenges as he aims to contribute as one of the starting pitchers.
"It is,' manager Dave Roberts admitted Saturday. 'That's why I think we wanted to make sure we were cautious and take him offline. I don't want to get too far ahead of it until we get the scans."
"Hopefully the pain, the discomfort subsides and get him throwing again and see where it takes us," Roberts said.
