""I mean, I would've done anything just to be in The Show, pitching in the playoffs. Just to get a little taste of the playoffs at such a young age, that was huge. Just to be a part of the clubhouse, be with all the guys, be out on the field, record some big outs, that's what Roki was able to do.""
""I think that is going to be a huge boost for his confidence because I know he was down on himself early on in the season. He wasn't getting the results that he expected to get and stuff like that. For him to bounce back, go to the Minor Leagues, figure some stuff out, come back healthy and to record some of the biggest outs for the Dodgers in the playoffs, that's going to be huge for him.""
Roki Sasaki joined the Los Angeles Dodgers with high expectations but struggled early and suffered a right shoulder injury that disrupted his season. He returned from the 60-day injured list in the final week in a bullpen role, allowing one hit and striking out four in two scoreless combined innings. He carried that form into the postseason, recording three saves with a 0.84 ERA in nine appearances, including a three-inning effort in Game 4 of the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies. David Price said the playoff success as a reliever should boost Sasaki’s confidence and development, noting his own early relief stint before becoming an All-Star and 2012 Cy Young winner.
