Dave Roberts Has 'Thought About' Sitting Michael Conforto Amid Struggles
Briefly

Michael Conforto, signed by the Dodgers hoping to revitalize his career, has struggled significantly since a promising start. With a current batting average of .141 from 119 plate appearances, his recent performance is concerning, leading to speculation around potential changes in the Dodgers' left field lineup. Manager Dave Roberts has considered giving Conforto time off to regain his form. Meanwhile, the team’s top prospect, Dalton Rushing, is also being evaluated for a possible role in left field, indicating that changes could be imminent if Conforto's struggles persist.
"I have thought about it," Roberts said. "I know he's grinding right now.... We'll see. I'm not saying that at some point if we don't see - if he doesn't look more comfortable, to be able to give him a couple days off might make sense."
In 119 plate appearances, Conforto is sporting a .141 batting average. This includes only two homers and six runs batted in.
Thus far, those plans have been futile. Michael Conforto started the season 8-for-26 with four doubles and two home runs, since then: 6-for-71 with no XBH.
At some point, the Dodgers will have to see what Rushing's got at the highest level. Rushing did see some time in left field last year.
