The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned Landon Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City after a short stint that included two starts and a recent improvement in performance against the Rockies. Knack expressed a better command and determination to attack batters, despite past struggles. Meanwhile, Bobby Miller was recalled to fill the starting pitcher role, prompted by Blake Snellâs injury. Miller is making his first appearance with the Dodgers during a time of need, as the team aims to manage pitcher schedules effectively.
"Just really determined to come out and attack a little more. Obviously, still a couple walks in there, but overall just a lot better direction with everything and much better feel coming out of the hand," Knack said after facing the Rockies.
"I thought he just had a lot better command. He was losing his curveball and slider arm-side, the changeup wasn't in play last start, fastball wasn't really relevant. I think today, the fastball had life and the breaking ball was good," Roberts said after Tuesday's win.
Miller is up with the Dodgers for the first time as they face a need for starting pitching because of Blake Snell's injury and wanting to keep Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki on their schedules of taking the mound once per week.
