Lauren Holiday, a former professional soccer player and World Cup champion, has shifted her focus towards investing in the North Carolina Courage through the Holiday Family Trust. Following her recovery from a life-threatening brain tumor, Holiday expressed her desire to continue having an impact in the soccer world. She will serve in a hands-on role as an advisor for the club, leveraging her experience from the league's early days. The investment reflects shared values between Holiday and the team's ownership, aiming to advance the club's mission further.
I want to be an impact everywhere that I go. So, yes, I'm an investor in North Carolina but I think I have invaluable insight being as I was part of the league when it was in its inaugural season.
Courage majority owner Steve Malik noted that the aligned values with Holiday were clear from their first conversation and declined to share a percentage of ownership for the Holidays.
