Juventus appoint ex-Napoli, Italy coach Spalletti
"Former Napoli and Italy boss Luciano Spalletti was confirmed as Juventus' new head coach on Thursday, replacing the fired Igor Tudor. Spalletti has signed an agreement with the record 36-time Serie A champions through to the end of the current season, Juventus said. According to reports in Italy, the agreement comes with an automatic renewal if the team qualify for the Champions League."
"Tudor was fired on Monday following three straight losses and an eight-match winless run that dated to Sept. 13. The unfortunate run was ended on Wednesday after a 3-1 win over Udinese under interim coach Massimo Brambilla. Spalletti, who will hold his first news conference on Friday, becomes Juventus' third full-time coach since Massimiliano Allegri was fired in May 2024. Including caretakers, he is the club's fifth coach in that span."
Luciano Spalletti was appointed Juventus head coach on a contract through the end of the current season, with reports of automatic renewal if the team qualifies for the Champions League. He replaces Igor Tudor, who was dismissed after three straight losses and an eight-match winless run that dated to Sept. 13; an interim 3-1 win over Udinese ended the streak. Spalletti is Juventus' third full-time coach since May 2024 and fifth including caretakers. Juventus sit seventh in Serie A and are in elimination places in the Champions League. Spalletti previously led Napoli to the 2023 Serie A title, coached Italy, and has managed several Italian and Russian clubs. His son Federico works as a scout at Juventus. Spalletti will debut against Cremonese and then face Sporting CP.
