"JEP 527, Post-Quantum Hybrid Key Exchange for TLS 1.3, has been elevated from Proposed to Target to Targeted for JDK 27. This JEP proposes to enhance the implementation of RFC 8446, Transport Layer Security (TLS) Protocol Version 1.3, using the Hybrid Key Exchange in TLS 1.3 specification, currently being drafted by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in conjunction with JEP 496, Quantum-Resistant Module-Lattice-Based Key Encapsulation Mechanism, delivered in JDK 24."

JEP 527 has been elevated to Targeted for JDK 27 to add post-quantum hybrid key exchange support for TLS 1.3, aligned with RFC 8446 and ongoing IETF drafts. JEP 496 delivered a module-lattice-based key encapsulation mechanism in JDK 24. Oracle released JDK versions 25.0.2, 21.0.10, 17.0.18, 11.0.30 and 8u481 as part of the January 2026 Critical Patch Update. Build 32 of JDK 26 and Build 6 of JDK 27 early-access builds were published with various fixes. GlassFish Grizzly 5.0.0 reached GA with a JDK 21 baseline and virtual thread support. Payara Platform published its January 2026 edition. Liberica JDK, GraalVM, OpenXava and Ktor received maintenance updates.
