A recent study by SecurityScorecard reveals that while 88% of surveyed security executives express concerns about supply chain risks, less than half actively monitor security across external suppliers. The report highlights that a staggering 79% of organizations oversee less than half of their nth-party suppliers with cybersecurity programs. Alarmingly, 36% of respondents protect only 1-10% of their supply chains, illustrating a serious vulnerability. Moreover, 62% indicate that their third and nth-party suppliers do not meet their security standards, leading to increased incidents of attacks and breaches.
"This means the vast majority of organizations are flying blind when it comes to securing the supply chains that keep their businesses running."
"At the very least, you would expect your third-party and nth-party vendors to match your company's security protocols, but that's simply not the case."
