Okta plans technology and policy solutions to secure non-human identities (NHIs) such as AI agents as deployments surge ahead of governance. A company-commissioned poll of 260 decision-makers across nine countries found 91% of organisations had deployed agentic AI while only 10% had governance in place. Agents are moving from prototype to production without being enrolled in directories, authenticated, authorised, or otherwise governed, creating significant exposure. The company intends to present detailed approaches at its Oktane conference and urges that security and governance be primary considerations for enterprise adopters.
