INTERPOL disclosed the dismantling of over 20,000 malicious IP addresses tied to 69 variants of information-stealing malware during Operation Secure, which took place from January to April 2025. This coordinated operation involved law enforcement agencies from 26 countries, resulting in the takedown of 79% of suspicious IPs and the arrest of 32 individuals. Among notable actions were arrests in Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and Nauru, revealing critical infrastructure like command-and-control servers. Information stealers remain a serious cyber threat, often leading to unauthorized access to sensitive data across various sectors.
These coordinated efforts resulted in the takedown of 79 percent of identified suspicious IP addresses.
Participating countries reported the seizure of 41 servers and over 100 GB of data, as well as the arrest of 32 suspects linked to illegal cyber activities.
