Tribeca Festival to World Premiere Uttera Singh's Feature Debut 'Pinch,' Teaser Unveiled (EXCLUSIVE)
Briefly

'Pinch,' directed by Uttera Singh, is a mother-daughter dramedy that explores themes of truth, tradition, and silence following an unsettling incident during a community pilgrimage. Premiering at the Tribeca Festival, it is the first Indian film to compete in three years in the International Narrative Competition. Singh, who is also the writer, producer, and star, emphasizes the importance of dialogue around societal issues often overlooked. Using humor, the film aims to challenge perceptions surrounding assault and emotional aftermath, pushing viewers to confront uncomfortable truths.
In telling this story, I wanted to make a big deal out of what society often dismisses as 'small.' There's a darker version of this film, but I leaned into comedy and energy to spark conversation.
Pinch doesn't pretend to have answers. It insists on the questions, reflecting the absurdity of silence around assault. This mother-daughter journey is about confronting emotional aftermath.
