Conan O'Brien will host the 2026 Oscars with showrunner Raj Kapoor and executive producer Katy Mullan praising his instincts and ability to balance entertainment with reverence. O'Brien successfully navigated the 2025 ceremony during the Los Angeles fires while maintaining an inclusive atmosphere. With additional preparation time, O'Brien plans more ambitious creative pieces, unexpected celebrity cameos, and surprises developed throughout production. The ceremony will introduce a Fab Five presenter concept for the new Best Casting category, featuring five casting directors sharing individual stories to highlight their importance to filmmaking. Only one Best Original Song performance is scheduled.
