Exclusive: iconic London venue the Barbican has just announced its summer outdoor movie season
"Tickets go on sale from the box office to Barbican members at 10am on Wednesday May 13, and to the general public at 10am on May 14. Standard tickets are priced £20, with concessions at £18, Barbican members £16.50, and under-18s only a tenner."
Outdoor cinema returns to Barbican’s Sculpture Court for a summer run from Wednesday August 19 to Sunday August 30. Screenings include a wide range of film styles, from Spike Lee concert documentaries to Denis Villeneuve science fiction, French New Wave films, and Iranian cinema. US indie cinema is spotlighted through an LGBTQ+ drama filmed in Thamesmead and Greenwich. The program also includes coming-of-age stories, cult classics such as Desperately Seeking Susan and The Florida Project, a kaiju classic, and Makoto Shinkai’s Weathering With You. Tickets go on sale at 10am on May 13 for Barbican members and May 14 for the general public, with standard tickets at £20 and concessions and member pricing available.
