An enterprise pitch day was held in Barking and Dagenham, where eight schools showcased their filmmaking ideas to a panel of judges from the film industry. The judges selected the best pitches from primary and secondary schools, allowing these concepts to be professionally developed. This initiative aims to promote the area as a filmmaking hub, helping students gain access to industry opportunities. Councillor Elizabeth Kangethe highlighted the event's role in encouraging creativity and ambition among young people in film.
This event showed pupils' ability to think outside the box and bring their visions to life, Cllr Elizabeth Kangethe said. We are encouraging them to pursue their dreams and make an impact on the world of film.
