Will Ferrell's SNL Monologue Hijacked by Doppelganger Chad Smith
Will Ferrell and Chad Smith’s resemblance gag continued into Saturday Night Live’s Season 51 finale. During Ferrell’s opening monologue, the Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer appeared onstage and initially confused the audience. Ferrell challenged him, insisting he was not the host and that the real Chad Smith was the drummer. When the crowd cheered, Ferrell angrily demanded silence and accused the lookalike of pushing him backstage, causing him to fall. Ferrell claimed Lorne had to give him mouth-to-mouth. Paul McCartney later joined the comedy as the musical guest, with Smith backing him on drums.

"Eventually, the episode's musical guest, Paul McCartney (who Smith later backed on drums), also got in on the fun."
