"Celebrate Black History Month with live stand-up at San Francisco's first Black-owned comedy club. Featuring the Bay Area's best rising Black comedians, rotating lineups with credits like Cobb's, Punch Line, SF Sketchfest, Cheaper Than Therapy, and often surprise drop-in sets from touring comics. Each show features 4 to 5 pro comedians performing 70 to 90 minutes of stand-up in an intimate clubhouse-style venue on Market Street."
"The Function is San Francisco's first Black-owned comedy club, located on Market Street near Hayes Valley. The space blends a stylish cocktail lounge with an intimate comedy room, creating a close, electric atmosphere where every show feels personal. The club has quickly become a favorite hangout for working comics across the Bay Area. On any given night, you might see comedians stopping in after shows elsewhere, testing new material, or dropping in unexpectedly."
The Function presents a Black History Month Comedy Festival running February 21 to March 8, 2026, with nightly shows and bonus dates into March. Shows run Sundays through Thursdays at 7:00pm and 8:30pm, and Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00pm and 9:00pm.
