Chris McCausland was born in Liverpool and trained as a software engineer before losing his sight in his twenties due to a genetic disorder. He transitioned to sales and began performing standup comedy in 2003, later expanding into theatre tours and publishing a memoir, Keep Laughing. In 2024 he won Strictly Come Dancing and his waltz with professional Dianne Buswell earned the memorable moment BAFTA in 2025. He added over 100 dates to his Yonks! tour running until May 2026.
