An excavation in Topolovgrad, Bulgaria, uncovered a Thracian warrior's tomb, dated to the 2nd century B.C., that is the richest Late Hellenistic burial in the country. The warrior was buried with a silver gilt wreath, jewelry, and fine weaponry. He was interred with numerous ceramic and glass vessels, and his war horse was found adorned with remarkable medallions showing mythological scenes. The burial reflects advanced craftsmanship and metallurgy. This site is connected to another recent opulent grave discovered 60 meters away.
