Don Quixote is a widely translated 17th-century epic by Miguel de Cervantes. An aging Spaniard, influenced by heroic and romance books, imagines himself as a knight and sets out in armor to restore chivalry in Spain. Sancho Panza, a sidekick and farmer, helps him during the imaginary adventures. The story has inspired many adaptations, including films, TV movies, musicals, operas, and ballets. A ballet production is staged by Mountain View’s Western Ballet, featuring young dancers from its Youth Program. Performances run until May 23, with a show scheduled for Fri, May 22 at 7 pm at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, with tickets priced $52-$64.
