University launches teaching degree apprenticeship to help primary schools
Briefly

Middlesex University launched a primary teacher degree apprenticeship to combat teacher shortages in London and the South East. This four-year programme integrates school-based learning with university education for teaching assistants. It aims to help schools retain and develop talented staff while addressing the growing issue of teacher retention. The apprenticeship allows institutions to shape a workforce suited to their needs. Additionally, a 12-month Post Graduate Teacher Apprenticeship is being introduced. Both programmes, starting in September, can be fully funded through the Apprenticeship Levy.
