"It's a tough time to be graduating from college-fresh-faced Gen Zers are stepping into an uncertain market riddled with "ghost" jobs, AI automation, and dwindling entry-level opportunities. With little to no work experience, they're turning to one business degree to try and grease the wheels of their careers. About 69% of colleges reported an influx in applications to their masters in management programs globally last year, according to a report from the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC)."
Fresh Gen Z graduates face a difficult job market marked by ghost jobs, AI automation, and fewer entry-level positions. Many are applying to masters in management programs, which require no prior work experience or a business bachelor's degree. Colleges reported a roughly 69% rise in applications to masters in management globally last year. Masters in management teach core management and leadership skills and rank second among pre-experience masters, behind masters of accounting (71% increase). More experienced programs such as business analytics/MBAs saw smaller increases (about 34%), while over four million young Americans remain NEET.
