Strength in numbers: ROTC welcomes largest class in decades | Cornell Chronicle
Briefly

Cornell's Tri-Service Brigade welcomed a notably large incoming cohort: 33 new Army cadets (the most since 1992), 21 midshipmen for Navy and Marine commissions, and 19 Air Force cadets. Leaders credit growth to proactive outreach to ROTC scholarship applicants, coordination with admissions, strong records of older students, and Cornell's land-grant tradition of supporting military service. New cadets received uniforms and equipment, took required fitness tests to activate scholarships, practiced M4 firing with digital ammunition, and participated in team-building on the Hoffman Challenge Course operated by Cornell Outdoor Education.
When they hand me my uniform, it's the real deal: I'm officially a U.S. Army cadet,
That's something I've always wanted, so I'm looking forward to it.
These students pursue studies preparing them to be future leaders of the United States, they tend to stay in school and finish, and then they give back to the country and to their school later in life.
