'Roughly what I expected' - Leaving Cert students react after first day of exams
Briefly

Over 140,000 students participated in the Leaving Certificate English exams, which began with Higher and Ordinary Level Paper 1. Students Helena Healy and Fred Movete expressed satisfaction with their respective papers, highlighting themes like personal reflection on voting intentions and universal experiences in response to pop culture references. Helena appreciated the inclusion of Margaret Atwood's work, while Fred found comfort starting his exam despite initial pressure. Both students remain optimistic about their performance and future exams, reflecting on the relevance and approachability of the test content.
I thought it was general enough where you could talk about anything that you were interested in, but it wasn't so broad that you wouldn't have enough ideas.
I definitely felt the pressure but once I started everything was ok. There was maybe one question [that caught me] but I think I will do great.
I really liked seeing Margaret Atwood on the paper. She's one of my favourite authors. And I also liked the personal essay.
It was roughly what I expected.
