Forty-five of the 197 U.S. law schools accredited by the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar had new deans in 2025, representing 22.8% of accredited schools, with one school appointing co-deans. New deans include leaders at Georgetown, Harvard, Northwestern Pritzker, University of Chicago, University of Michigan and Yale. The overall gender and ethnicity composition of law school leadership remains largely unchanged from May, with three fewer Black female deans, two additional white male deans and one additional Asian or Pacific Islander male dean. Four deans are scheduled to leave this year, including at Belmont, Florida A&M, George Mason Antonin Scalia and University of Richmond.
