Minnesota payroll problems grew after Workday, say auditors

The rollout of the Workday HR platform at Minnesota State universities and colleges resulted in payroll errors for more than a thousand faculty and staff. A report indicated that a sample of 202 faculty members revealed inaccuracies in payments. The transition from the legacy ERP system to Workday did not include the capability to calculate faculty payroll, leading to continued reliance on older systems. The initial budget for the project was $151.1 million, but issues with data transfer and payroll calculations persisted post-implementation.
