Indiana University suspended the Indiana Daily Student's print publication after administrators fired Director of Student Media Jim Rodenbush. Rodenbush was accused of refusing administrator directions to limit a homecoming edition to only homecoming information and "no traditional front page news coverage." First Amendment advocates, including the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression and the Student Press Law Center, condemned the decision as censorship. IDS editors pledged to resist as long as the university disregards the law and said they would prefer legal action if necessary. The move follows similar campus conflicts at Purdue and Texas A&M over student newspapers.
