"We learned shortly before 10:49, a gunman entered Constant Hall, opened fire. Two people were injured. Old Dominion University police and Norfolk police all responded. The gunman is now deceased, we're told, and an injured person was transported to a local hospital."

A shooting occurred at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, injuring two people. A gunman entered Constant Hall and opened fire before 10:49 a.m. The university issued alerts instructing students to hide, run, and shelter in place. Old Dominion University police and Norfolk police responded immediately. One injured person was transported to a local hospital. The gunman is now deceased. The university canceled classes for the remainder of the day as authorities, including the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, conducted investigations and swept the campus. Law enforcement maintained a perimeter around the area. Approximately 23,000 students attend Old Dominion University.
