Georgia Tech approved a new five-year contract for Brent Key, adding one year and keeping him through 2030. The deal raises Key's average annual compensation to $6.5 million, an increase of $2 million. Key's record at Georgia Tech is 27-19, including eight games as interim coach in 2022 and a 7-1 mark against Top 25 ACC opponents. Before Key became interim coach, the program went 10-38 in the previous 48 games. The Yellow Jackets finished 6-2 in ACC play and 9-3 overall, their best season since 2014, and await a bowl destination. President Angel Cabrera credited new athletics director Ryan Alpert with elevating Georgia Tech athletics and investing in Coach Key and the football program.
